Are you working on any projects?
I am. I'm writing a book, The Crucified Mind: The Psychology of a True Christian. It's basically a book for serious Christians, devoted to serving God and dying to self. It separates those who are going through the motions from those who truly love God. It separates the heresies of this day from the pure and holy truth of God's Word. It calls believers to a deeper prayer life, a longing for eternity, a yearing to be clothed with immortality.
It's due out Spring 2009.
What for you is a good book and/or what is your favorite thing about writing?
A good book has intriguing elements of surpise and suspense as well as a plot strong enough to fit everyday life situations. I remember the lessons weaved through out the book more than anything. My favorite thing about writing is evoking images in the reader's mind. I love to play with words and metaphors.
What qualifications allow God to use you?
Good Question. Of course, the Holy Spirit actively working within me to reproduce the life of Christ qualifies me. My strength is in Christ alone. But to be more specific, I believe everyone has talents and abilities that God gave them to use for Him. I'm always blessed when I listen to Christian artist, and the words seem to flow from their heart. It gives a new dimension and quality to the work done. In the same way, my talents and abilites give my work a quality different from others, work that flows from a heart and life filled with the love of Christ.
I love to study. I have had the awesome opportunity to dive into old time preachers like Leonard Ravenhill, Tozer, Wesley, Finney, Spurgeon, etc...By the grace of my God, I was allowed to study those who He has used before. It helps separate some of new age doctrine that has sprang up in recent years.
The most important quality, however, is a Spirit-filled life. No teaching, study, or talent is better than the Holy Spirit. It is my firm belief, that those who a real and sincere will seek God and He will show them everything they need to know. God has showed me so much through His Word, I can't help but to praise Him and help someone else.
What is the ram and the Scripture all about?
Haha....At first glance it probably looks a little weird. It basically stands for the life of Christ. He was like a lamb being led to the slaughter. In other words, Christ came to this earth knowing He would die and then went to His death without a mumbling word. We too as believers should live on this earth knowing we have to die to self and then go to our deathing singing praises to God.
What is Joseph Mac Ministries all about?
Joseph Mac is not a person. It a symbol. Joseph Mac represents the new, the redeemed, those who answered the call of God. It is no different than Scripture telling us that the old things have passed away. Joseph Mac says, "behold the new". Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm simply tagging a life long fact with a new name. Every born again believer represents Joseph Mac. As Paul, Peter, James, and John were apostles during the life of the early church, Joseph Mac represents the same during this present life of the church.
Where did the name come from?
A combination of my middle and last name
What is one piece of advice you would give to a person considering Christ or a new believer?
Love God through Christ, that's the only way....His Way
